I made this quilt for my oldest daughter. The friendship blocks were made by her grandmother in the early 1940's. We found them after her death, not knowing she had ever done any quilt piecing.
I have used 1930's reproduction fabrics which matched the colors very well.
This quilt will surely be handed down through the generations in our family.
Oh, I love this quilt so much! Twyla
ReplyDeleteHello Colleen! Welcome to blogland!
ReplyDeleteThank you SO much for you sweet comments. They really made my day, more than you know. I have been rather down about blogging lately... .feeling like no one cares and that maybe I should hang it up, LOL! Hardly anyone signed up for my giveaway! Then you pop up like an angel~
I would LOVE to hear about your mother seeing gwtw in '39. I'll add your blog to the list for the 7th!
What a great find those blocks were, this turned out beautifully. The colors are awesome.
Quilting is something that is "on my list" of things to do.
Your Wiz quilts are wonderful! Love the ME one too. What fun!
I have a quilt post planned for the future, you will just die when you see the Wiz quilt from the museum we visited this summer.
So pretty!
